RIGHTS-OF-WAY CLEARING

Iron Mountain Forestry offers Right-of-Way clearing services, regardless of terrain, that adhere to all North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) requirements, as well as all utility standards.

  • Electric: NERC and FERC standards require the removal of incompatible vegetation from growing to a point where they can interfere with high voltage electric power lines. Utility standards also provide for similar requirements, and we specialize in maintaining transmission and subtransmission Rights-of-Way clear from incompatible vegetation. This ensures safe and reliable power, avoids fires, and outages, and reduces the risk of fines and penalties for noncompliance.

  • Pipelines: Iron Mountain Forestry’s team includes specialized forestry professionals who understand all federal and industry standards for maintaining pipeline Rights-of-Way, who take into consideration not only the above-ground challenges posed by incompatible trees and other vegetation, but also the below-ground root systems that could interfere with the coatings and structural integrity of the pipelines themselves, avoiding expensive damage to the pipelines, together with loss of product and expensive remediation. We also propose planting programs that avert subsidence and erosion.

I have had the pleasure of working with the owner of Iron Mountain Forestry, Dan Bickhard and his crew.
They have demonstrated high expectations of safety and have experience with aviation Heli logging in very remote areas with extreme terrain conditions.
Dan and his crew have shown to have the knowledge, experience and expertise for this dangerous work.
